This focused issue on “Rare Tumors of the Breast” is edited by Dr. Emanuela Esposito, from Breast Cancer Department, National Cancer Institute of Naples, Fondazione G. Pascale, Naples, Italy; and Dr. Michelino De Laurentiis, from Breast and Thoracic Oncology at National Cancer Institute "Fondazione Pascale", Napoli, Italy.

Dr. Emanuela Esposito attended her Observership in 2009 at the Breast Service of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York; at the Breast Unit of the Royal Marsden in London and since 2014 she has worked as a Clinical and Research Fellow at the Division of Cancer Studies of King's College London - Guy's Hospital - London devoting herself to innovative technologies for sentinel lymph node biopsy and to intraoperative radiotherapy.
