	abstract = {NLRs (nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeats containing receptors) are pattern recognition receptors, evolutionarily conserved across plants and animals (1). NLRs, initiate immune response against specific damage and pathogen-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs/PAMPs) (2). NLRs also contribute to the function and regulation of multiple innate immune signaling pathways (3) (Figure 1). NLRC3, the newly characterized NLR family member is preferentially expressed in immune cells.
