Dr. Adusumilli is a thoracic surgeon-scientist with expertise in the treatment of cancers in the chest. His laboratory research is focused on studies of cancer immunology and immunotherapy. Dr. Adusumilli’s laboratory has developed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy for thoracic cancers. Based on the lab data published in the Science Translational Medicine 2014, Cancer Discovery 2016 and Journal of Clinical Investigation 2016, Dr. Adusumilli is now conducting two clinical trials at MSK (NCT02414269 and NCT02792114, clinicaltrials.gov) for patients with mesothelioma, metastatic lung and breast cancers. He is a member of several international committees in the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, American Society of Cell and Gene Therapy, American Association for Thoracic Surgery, and a member of prestigious Fleischner Society.
