David S. Weinberg, MD, MSc

David Weinberg MD, MSc is the Chairman of Medicine at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, where he holds the Audrey Weg Schaus and Geoffrey Alan Weg Chair in Medical Science. He is a Professor of Medicine at the Temple University School of Medicine. 

Dr Weinberg received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from Cornell University (Weill) Medical College. He completed his medical residency at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston followed by concurrent gastroenterology and epidemiology fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr Weinberg’s research activities have focused on gastrointestinal cancer prevention and control. Areas of interest have included colorectal cancer screening utilization and disease risk stratification using readily available genetic testing.  In addition, he has actively pursued novel clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness studies for different GI cancers, a host of chemoprevention projects, and investigation into different aspects of the molecular epidemiology of colon and pancreatic cancers.
