Dr. Ryan S. Grover serves as Director of the Head and Neck, Sarcoma, Gynecologic, and Central Nervous System cancer programs at the Proton Center. Dr. Grover is a Portland, Oregon native who graduated magna cum laude from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA with Honors in Psychobiology. He received his medical degree from the Keck Medical School at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, before moving on to the University of California, Irvine, for his Preliminary Internal Medicine residency. At the conclusion of this program, he was named "intern of the year."
His experience with proton therapy began in 2002 with his Radiation Oncology residency at the Loma Linda University Medical Center, in Loma Linda, CA, one of the few centers in the United States that offered. He was then invited to join the Loma Linda faculty, where he served as Chief of the Head and Neck cancer service, with additional focus on brain, prostate, and breast tumors. His research is currently focused on optimizing proton radiotherapy in these areas to make cancer treatment more comfortable and effective.
